Westwinds 2025 Germany & Austria Tour
This summer Westwinds is going on tour! We are travelling to five cities in Germany and Austria to perform Canadian music, connect with other musicians and explore a different part of the world.

Our travels will take us to:
-
July 13 – 16 Willingen / Bottendorf
We begin our tour in these small towns that have a long history with the Westwinds organization. The Bottendorf Possaunenchor first toured Calgary over 20 years ago and inspired Westwinds to launch our own tours.

-
July 16 – 18 Eisenach
Eisenach is the birthplace of the legendary Johann Sebastian Bach. Bach was born in Eisenach in 1685 and moved away when he was about 10 years old. We will have the incredible opportunity to play in the cathedral where Bach was baptized.

-
July 18 – 21 Munich
Our next stop is the City of Munich which a rich culture, historic architecture and has a long musical history. Here we will play with the Trombone Choir at the Munich Evangelical Church in Hasenbergl.

-
July 21 – 24 Salzburg
“The hills are alive… with the Sound of Music!” Our next stop takes us to Salzburg Austria, the birthplace of Mozart and is the setting of the classic musical “The Sound of Music.” Here we will perform with Postmusik Salzburg in the historic Church of St. Andrew.

-
July 24 – 27 Vienna
Our final stop takes us to Vienna, another city with a rich cultural and musical history. Many famous classical composers like Mozart, Beethoven, and Strauss call it home. Performance details aren’t finalized, but we will be performing a public concert at the Lutheran City Church. This is a church that was established in the late 16th century.
