This course will focus on learning an approach that can be used for reading jazz tunes and learning the standards. Intended to use the information gathered from Jazz Improv 1 & 2, we will study the changes and work on ways to apply them through exercises which will help build improvisational skills. It will also have a "masterclass-like" feel where class members will be asked to play "in front of everyone" (microphone on!) at times, as our focus this term is more ‘practical’ than ‘theoretical’.

Recommended for previous participants of Jazz Improv 1 & 2 or instrumentalists who understand the concept of jazz changes and want to further their understanding and ability to apply these concepts.
