Heidi
Wood is thrilled and honoured to be joining the team at the Westwinds
Music Society as the musical director of the Choral Ensemble.
Currently on maternity leave from her position as choral director at
Lord Beaverbrook High School she is exited to be getting back into
directing community choirs. Heidi has conducted many different
choirs over the years including various high school, community and
university ensembles both in Canada and the US. She is also an
accomplished chorus member herself having sung with the National Youth
Choir of Canada, the UBC Singers, the CBC Sunrise Chorale as well as
the Vocalensemble Rastatt in Germany to name a few. Heidi holds a
Master of Music degree from the University of British Columbia in Opera
Performance. Her performance credits include performances at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, Buttercup in Gilbert and Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore, alto soloist in Handel’s Messiah at the Orfeum Theater, Vancouver, Third Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Vancouver and the Czech Republic, Rosette in Massenet’s Manon, Juliette in Lehar’s The Merry Widow, and the Witch in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel.
