Having grown up in
choirs, Julie Freedman Smith has performed in
Canada, the UK and Australia both as a chorister
and a soloist including various opera roles. She
has appeared with numerous Mount Royal Choirs, the
Ad Libitum Vocal Ensemble and Calgary's Kantorei
and has performed extensively and recorded with
both VoiceScapes and the Early Music Consort of
Calgary. Julie has spent half of her life teaching
music to people aged 3 through 83. Julie currently
serves as Assistant Conductor to the Calgary Boys
Choir and is excited to be involved in the
Westwinds community. In her non-choir life, she is
the co-owner of Parenting Power and serves as a
choral clinician in the
city.
