SELMER TENOR SAXOPHONE - Original SILVER lacquered 15-Oct-2009
This
horn was my main instrument for quite a few years and it’s been
hibernating in perfect condition since I’ve upgraded to another vintage
horn. The horn had extensive work done by Ken Fornetran in
Toronto. The pads are perfect and the finish is mostly intact,
except on the neck where it’s faded off. It does have signs of
use and therefore the price is negotiable.
The horn has a very
interesting ART DECO engraving which is completely unique to this one
instrument. Comes with the original wood case which has been
reupholstered but I will include a NEOTECH gig case which is lighter
and less fragile. The model is a SELMER PENNSYLVANIA which is made in
FRANCE this extremely rare horn places it's origin from the
1930’s. The serial is 4 digits: 450*
I am a professional
saxophonist and am selling this horn because I have replaced it with
much more expensive horn. But the tenor for sale has an excellent
WARM, RICH, SYRUPY, DARK, CLASSIC tone, and there is nothing –
NOTHING, made today that gets close to the unique sound of this
instrument. If you have any questions or would like to test it out
please let me know and we can make arrangements. Asking $1700. Contact Aaron at (403) 383-6964
